Why I think I am a worthy candidate:

     Achievement

  • Throughout my 15+ years in dance and 7 years in education working with children. Locally and nationally, across the West Midlands and internationally, across 4 countries, Jamaica 2019, Senegal 2018, Italy 2017 and Thailand 2015. I have consistently demonstrated excellence and dedication. From delivering outreach workshops and dance education programmes, my commitment to uplifting children from ages 5 - 18 years has set me apart.

    Community & Impact

  • Beyond my achievements, I am deeply committed to making a positive impact on our community. Through initiatives such as Sickle Cell Awareness, Children in Need and championing neurodiversity. I strive to contribute to the well-being of those around me.

    Success Stories

  • Through using dance and movement in the classroom as a method to break down language barriers, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of dedicated efforts in enhancing the lives of children. These experiences motivate me to continue my work with even greater enthusiasm.

“Tamar has built a great relationship with the pupils over the past 6 weeks. She is always helpful and friendly and fed back any behaviour concerns or suggestions about the children and how the club is structured. I look forward to welcoming Tamar back to our school term”. - Head of PE Primary School Teacher. Birmingham

“I learned technique, posture, musicality and more” - Pupil, Year 6

    Unique Qualities

  • What sets me apart is I am a humanitarian first and culture is at the heart of my work. People and places inspire me and throughout my travels, to children, I have been known as 'Teacher Tay'. I believe this aspect makes me a distinctive candidate for the Outstanding Contribution to Children Award.

    Future Vision

  • Winning this award will not only be a personal achievement but will also enable me to reach more children, and more people, at home and abroad. Through my community dance company, UMDC. I am committed to community engagement through dance and well-being. Being inclusive of all abilities and backgrounds.

Thank you
