unique tay was first created by Tamar (Tay), to combine all her expertise and passion for dance, and it soon became the 'go-to' platform to motivate and assist creative work. unique tay provides a wide range of services that creates, manages and advocates dance and creative projects. At the same time, Tay aims to inspire and influence emerging creatives to focus on self and professional development, by creating a non-judgemental space for diverse voices in the sector.

about Tay:

HIGHLY COMMANDED for Outstanding Contributions to Children and Young People Award 2024 and FINALIST for Creative Arts of the Year Award 2024.

Tay, a UK-based dance and creative entrepreneur of Jamaican heritage, and a creative dyslexic, is a workshop facilitator, dance writer (copyeditor and proofreader), podcast host, Youth Mental Health First Aider and founder of Unique Movez Dance Collective CIC. She is committed to advocating the voice and vision of aspiring creatives and raising the profile of dance through artist development, cultural exchanges and community engagement.

Taking dance to the world:

With over ten years of experience within the dance sector, Tay has developed a strong passion and commitment to creative project management, relationship building and society & culture. Upon graduation with a BA (Hons) in Professional Dance Development, in 2014, Business Administration level 2 - 2017 and a qualified dance and education assistant (STL and TEFL) in 2015; Tamar has worked alongside a diverse range of Arts organisations, from social enterprises to independent dance artists, across the sector. Nationally and internationally.

Current board member of Cheshire Dance and a professional member of One Dance UK and People Dancing. Successful member cohort of Punch Records; P Word 2024 and East London Dance; Brainwaves 2023/24.

Further creative work and collaborations include FABRIC (DanceXchange), Culture Central, Artists4Artists, B-SIDE Hip Hop Festival, Break Mission, AWA Dance, ArtsFest, ACE Dance and Music, 2faced Dance, UNISON, Birmingham Metropolitan College, Princes Trust: Social Enterprise. Manifesto Jamaica, Erasmus+ (Italy), École des Sables (Senegal), International teacher and educator - Thailand; to develop and foster cultural exchange projects and leadership.
